No doubt your dark purple, burnt orange and cool coral lipsticks and gloss have been at the bottom of your makeup bag for quite a few seasons – but now it’s time to bring them to the fore.
In saying this, there are a couple of rules to stick to when it comes to making your pout pop.
1. Opt for minimal makeup – a nude eyeshadow and a bit of bronzer is acceptable – however it’s all about going au naturel to not take away from that statement look.
2. While many lipsticks and glosses promise to stay put for 24 hours (hmm…) have a quick check every so often and reapply when necessary. Your statement lips won’t be a statement if they are faded…
3. Get out of your comfort zone when it comes to colour. Why not try teal, silver, gold, or add some glitter? When it comes to statement lips, anything goes.
